Local starts calisthenic season off strong
Young Dimboola local Tiarnah Durmush has started the calisthenic competition season with a bang after placing in three recent solo competitions last month.

Previously living in Bacchus Marsh, Tiarnah has been doing calisthenics for 13 years where she did nine years at Pentland Calisthenics College before moving to Dimboola in 2020.
She also took ballet, music and drama classes at Performing Arts Headquarters in Bacchus Marsh at the age of two while also doing gymnastics, before moving to calisthenics and following in the footsteps of her older sister Zehra.
Now with Horsham Calisthenics Club, Tiarnah has been a competition soloist since she was a tiny, only missing out on one year.
Already she has made an impression on stage with her calisthenic solo and graceful solo coached by Caitlin Devlin and Di Walter.
On May 18, she competed at Twin City in Wodonga placed second for her graceful solo and received a highly commended for her calisthenic solo.
The following week she travelled to Ballarat on May 24 where she received first place for her calisthenic solo and second for her graceful solo.
Tiarnah started June off right as she competed in Bendigo and walked away with second place for her graceful solo.
Looking towards the rest of the year, Tiarnah will be competing in Mount Gambier in July before Horsham's three-day competition in August.
